About Piano Works In Progress, VT
Piano Works In Progress, VT takes up residence in the country town of Adamant, just seven miles outside of Montpelier, the capital city of Vermont. Adamant is home to Adamant Music School, a piano residency with an active summer season. Piano Works In Progress immerses itself in the piano culture that is Adamant in late summer and early fall, to offer a respite from daily life and invites the pianist to work on music in an atmosphere free of distraction and stress.
Adamant Music School is a pianist’s haven. More than a dozen free-standing, individual practice studios are scattered among the gardens, trees and near ponds, each containing two grand pianos. Pianists have the opportunity to change studios often, to experience different name brand pianos from Steinway, Mason Hamlin, Yamaha and Baldwin. There is ample time for practicing daily, as the studios never close!
Participants stay in one of three quaint Cape buildings that house private bedrooms with shared bathrooms. Three meals a day are imaginatively prepared by Chef Mark, featuring Vermont’s regional ingredients sourced from local farms, fields and woods. The main house is called Barney Hall, which houses the kitchen and dining room, bedrooms and a piano studio. Accommodations may be made for a spouse or friend to share your room for an additional fee. There is wifi in Barney Hall.
At Piano Works In Progress, VT, not only will you be able to play music without any distraction from the outside world, you will take in the gentle countryside that is pure Adamant, Vermont. It is an invitation to immerse yourself in peace and quiet and work on music.
